Siemens Hearing Aids
Although the company began as a manufacturer of telegraphic instruments in 1847, Siemens changed their focus to inventing instruments to improve the lives of people with hearing challenges in 1877, releasing an amplified telephone receiver.
The first Siemens hearing aid was produced in 1913, with their first BTE (behind-the-ear) instrument coming in 1959 and their first (ITE) in-the-ear hearing aid in 1966. The first hearing aid to outperform normal hearing, binax, was released by Siemens in 2014, which accelerated the development of smart products and applications with practical benefits to people with a hearing loss.
Siemens became Sivantos in 2015, which produced the line of Signia hearing aids using Siemen’s technology. The company was already included in the Sivantos Group when it merged with Widex to create WS Audiology in 2019.

Advanced Hearing Solutions From Siemens
The most important innovation of Siemens is their binax platform. Two independent studies, conducted by the University of Northern Colorado and the Hearing Center of the University of Oldenburg, involving binax showed that the hearing instrument provided wearers with an advantage over those with normal hearing in a noisy environment.
The secret to the performance quality of binax is its e2e wireless technology, which simulates binaural hearing using an eight microphone network (four per hearing aid), which wirelessly shares and balances audio data. Binax also comes with Narrow Directionality, Spatial Speech Focus, eWindScreen binaural, and High Definition Sound Resolution to clarify your sound experience.
